In excellent condition, printed on a sheet with full margins. From a front-row perspective, Lautrec captured the animated showmanship of this review which opened at the Théâtres des Variétés late in 1897. Georges-Guillaume Guy (1859-1919) and Juliette Josserand Mealy (1897-1951) squint into the footlights. Toulouse-Lautrec achieved the stark effects of the lights by using the white of the paper and the lithographic crayon ingeniously. At a time when the artist was supposedly losing his touch, the masterful draftsmanship of this lithograph, as well as a handful of others produced during the same period, bear witness to his continuing abilities despite his worsening physical condition.

From the edition of 100, stamp numbered '76' lower left. Published by Boussod, Manzi, Joyant & Cie., bearing the Goupil & Cie. blindstamp (Lugt 1090) in the lower margin.

Hand signed in pencil lower left T-Lautrec; also signed on the stone with the artist's monogram device upper left. Bearing the artist monogram stamp (Lugt 1338) in reed ink lower left.

A fine impression of Wittrock and Adriani's only state.
